Nominated for Best Photographer!

I was so excited to find out I had been nominated for Best Photographer in my area! I am up against some other area photographers too! So the competition is fierce! I am hoping that I can get the votes I need to win! Wouldn't that be awesome???? To have my work looked at as the best in the area, I just can't put into words how I can thank whoever nominated me! Since they don't allow anyone to vote on the computer, its all by ballet, say a quick prayer for me ! C

New Puppies!

Recently (August 13, 2008) my dog, Andie, gave birth to 5 healthy Weimaraner pups! My first thought was 'what a great picture opportunity' ! I had to wait until their beautiful blue eyes opened and they were able to stand up! But that day is here, and I am thrilled to finally be able to share the pics with you. Andie has been an awesome Mother, and although we only have two pups sold, we are looking forward (I may regret THAT statement) to having the next few weeks with them! Enjoy the pics and if you know anyone that might want a Weim, let me know!

Life in general

I have thought long and hard about the future of my wedding photography days. I did weddings for so long then got out of it to stay home with my kids on the weekends and see them grow up. A couple years ago, one of my good friends talked me into re-entering the wedding part of photography, something I wasn't truthfully looking forward to. I started slowly back into that busy realm, and then jumped with both feet. I'm loving it now, and ready to venture out again into the weddings. Now I am looking into going larger with my wedding marketing.

I think my goal would be 20 weddings a year, and hopefully I can do more 'Destination Weddings' and do some more exotic shoots.
Book your family shots early as the fall is the most popular time for family photos and we are booking up fast!

If you know of anyone who needs a photographer out of town, give them my name! I'm willing to travel.

On another note, I am offering a photography class this fall to catch the fall colors, dates to be announced. Also for those of you that have been calling about a 'refresher course' I will be having a couple of workshops to accommodate you! Keep an eye on the blog for the latest from Creative Photos by Caroline!

Close to my Heart!

Recently I had the opportunity to participate with great friends in making a dream come true, or at least I hope some dreams come true. We got together and ALL decided to help some families in need, who had recently lost their children when a lone gunman came out of the woods and began shooting, killing three of the teenagers and wounding one. The fund raiser was to help these three families of the slain children, with funeral costs.
I don't know what anyone elses goal was in all this, mine was $10k per family, it was a very high hope in a low economy and prayed for many people to come and spend money on the raffles and silent auctions to get these people some help. Although I realized that I would never be able to erase the fact that they lost children, I wanted to help elevate the pain of burying them if I could. ALL of us together had 4 days and a ton of resources across our small town.
We pulled it off and raised $80k for the three families to split! I just can't describe the feeling of being the roof of Home Depot and seeing the 8000 people out there. Pictures can't describe the feeling of heat that swelled in me, the pride of being from such an awesome home town with such great, caring friends that took up the battle and didn't complain. And to all the volunteers who just dug in and took over their posts to raise money, a huge thank you to all!
Here are some pics from that night, a night that will be with me forever.... C
